F.Y.I HISTORIC STAGVILLE PRESENTS JUBILEE MUSIC FESTIVAL JULY 19 DURHAM, N.C. -- The gospel and blues music that has touched the heart and filled the soul will be celebrated with a Jubilee Music Festival at Historic Stagville July 19, noon to 4:30 p.m. The free program will offer live performances of the Branchettes, Boo Hanks and Lakota John. Grab your lawn chairs and sunscreen and plan for an afternoon of uplifting entertainment. The Bahama Volunteer Fire Department will sell hot dogs and burgers. Gospel singers, the Branchettes, have performed church music in the African American tradition for more than 40 years and are past recipients of the N.C. Folk Heritage Award.
