INAUGURAL EDITION OF WHO'S WHO IN BLACK
RALEIGH-DURHAM IS HISTORIC EVENT WITH
POWERHOUSE HONOREES
RALEIGH, NC - Who’s Who Publishing, a
subsidiary of Real Times Media, unveiled the
inaugural edition of its Who’s Who in Black
Raleigh-Durham on April 10th on the campus
of Shaw University. This first book highlights
some of the area’s brightest and best, including
a Grammy-winning gospel singer, legendary hip
hop and R&B producer, a rap music pioneer,
and state representative to name a few. Local
living legends, entrepreneurs, and other
community leaders are also honored in the first
ever Who’s Who publication, that is devoted to
telling intriguing and inspiring stories of African
American who are achieving.
"We are honored and excited to bring
the Who’s Who Publishing brand to the RaleighDurham area. There is a lot of history here and

we want to be able to highlight the best of the
best of our community,'' said James McDuffie,
associate publisher for the book, who was also
the associate publisher for the inaugural edition
of the Charlotte publication.
The featured section of the Who’s Who In

Raleigh-Durham book will feature popular and
prolific hip hop producer 9th Wonder, owner of
well-known restaurant “Mama Dip’s” Mildred
Council, current acting president of Shaw
University Gaddis Faulcon, and Durham’s first
African-American State Representative, H.M.

A networking reception and book
unveiling reception took place Thursday, April
10, 2014 in Estey Hall on the campus of Shaw
University. from 6:00pm-8:30pm located 118
E. South Street in Raleigh. The evening also
included hors d'oeuvres and entertainment.
Everyone featured in the book as well as civic
and community leaders, business owners,
friends and family were in attendance. Event
sponsors include PNC Financial Services Group,
Wells Fargo, Shaw University, Mechanic and
Farmers Bank, and Success Realty.
