Blockley’s cause was not helped as he lined up on the wrong end of the
grid, but despite a sluggish start was soon carving his way from the tail end
towards the mid-pack where the battles were fast and furious. With a top 12
finish looking a reality, but he was punted off on the final corner of the race
which forced him into a spin. By the time he recovered, with the finish line a
mere 100 metres away, he was down in 33rd.
