SEPAWA returns to Berlin
After two years of virtual meetings , the SEPAWA Congress takes place in person again at the end of October
The annual SEPAWA Congress returns to Berlin on 26-28 October after two years of virtual meetings . It will be the 69th such event in the series . The venue is the 25,000 m 2 Estrel Congress Centre , which has more than 75 conference rooms and adjoins Germany ’ s largest hotel , the Estrel Berlin , near Alexanderplatz . The show will be open to visitors from 08.30 to 18.00 on Wednesday 26 and Thursday 27 October and from 08:30 to 12:30 on Friday 28 . About 3,000 people are expected to be present , in line with 2019 when it last took place in person . Speciality Chemicals Magazine is among the media partners . “ We are confident that by October 2022 exhibitions and conferences have returned to a certain normality . In any case , we promise a record event with many new highlights ,” said SEPAWA , the German trade association which organises the event . SEPAWA itself has over 1,600 members , including small- , mediumand large-sized enterprises , universities and the authorities . It describes the congress as the most significant meeting point of the detergents and cleansers , cosmetics and fragrance industry in Europe . The 1,587 registrants from 202 companies who took part in the virtual congress in 2021 were overwhelmingly ( 92.3 %) from Europe , with most of these ( 53 %) from Germany . Switzerland , France , Belgium , the Netherlands and Spain were among the next-best represented countries . The industries they represent were mainly personal care ( 43.7 %), home care ( 37.0 %), fragrances ( 9.0 %) and others ( 10.3 %). Suppliers of ingredients ( 37.6 % of the total ) and laboratory services ( 17.0 %) were the most represented by product type . Also present were professionals in the areas of distribution , quality assurance , machinery and packaging , among others . The exhibition area at the congress will hold over 300 companies presenting their latest products , trends and know-how . The SEPA Pack Exhibition & Conference , a new event for the packaging producing industry that will showcase packaging for the home care , personal care , cosmetic and perfumery industries , takes place for the first time this year . Alongside this , there is an extensive range of content , with over 150 lectures and poster presentations focused on all of the industries SEPAWA represents . Full details are on the website . your own talent , ( trend ) inspiration & the desire to innovate ’. The second Cosmetic Science Conference , organised by the German Society for Scientific & Applied Cosmetics ( DGK ), will take place in parallel with the SEPAWA Congress on 26-27 October . It will present the latest research from the cosmetic sciences under the theme ‘ Cosmetics 360 Degrees ’, with a focus on sustainability . Also taking place in parallel is the European Detergents Conference ( EDC ), the annual meeting of the GDCh Division of Detergent Chemistry . Here , specialists from academia and industry present their latest findings and research results in the form of poster and oral presentations . The division also holds its annual award ceremony during the meeting . The focus this year is on ‘ Interface Interactions : Experiment & Modelling ’. It will address experimental and theoretical investigations of interfaces , for example in foams and emulsions , and in this context discuss aspects like interface stability , transport processes and interactions at interfaces . •
