Schalow to head CABB
Current COO Tobias Schalow has taken over as CEO of the CABB Group. Thomas Ahrens, who had been absent for an extended period due to illness, has stepped down but will remain on the advisory board. Schalow joined CABB in 2018 after previously seeing through strategic transformation programmes at Linde and Booz & Company.
Arcinova has new MD
Arcinova, a recently relaunched CRDMO within Quotient Sciences, has appointed Dr Christian Dowdeswell as its new managing director after founder Paul Ryan announced his retirement. Dowdeswell has been in the CDMO sector over 25 years, with roles at Nanoform and Pangaea Life Sciences, as well as being CBO for drug substances Siegfried and previously global head of commercial development at Lonza’ s small molecules custom manufacturing business.
Khubchandani joins Aragen
Indian CRDMO Aragen Life Sciences has unveiled Aniel Khubchandani as CEO of its Development & Manufacturing Solutions business and a member of the management council. Before joining Aragen, Aniel was the CEO of Sekhmet Pharmaventures and co-CEO at Jubilant Ingrevia, where he“ led significant business transformations and growth strategies”.
Freisler to Siegfried
Peter Freisler has joined Siegfried as chief business officer and executive committee member, succeeding Marianne Späne, who will focus on non-executive roles and join Dinamiqs’ board. Freisler previously held senior leadership roles at Evonik, most recently global vice president for sales and services in Health Care.
Double change at Oxea Two join Celtic
German oxo intermediates and derivatives producer has appointed Michael McHenry and Ed Ray as its new CEO and CFO respectively. McHenry brings more than 30 years of experience in the chemicals and materials industries, most recently as CEO of Techmer PM, a manufacturer of engineered materials. Techmer PM has appointed Craig Nikrant in his place.
Celtic Renewables has appointed Bettina Brierley as chief commercial officer and Kerry Crawford as CFO to scale up bio-acetone, bio-butanol and bio-ethanol production. Brierley brings 35 years’ chemical industry expertise, most recently at Caldic, while Crawford has 20 years’ energy sector finance experience.
New CEO at Emery
Emery Oleochemicals has appointed Min Chong as its new group CEO. The company said that Chong“ had a distinguished career in the specialty chemicals industry, having held multiple senior leadership roles across the sector”, with“ a proven track record driving strategic growth, operational excellence and innovation”.
Van Hees promoted
Hans Van Hees, currently COO Europe, has taken on the role of COO at peptides giant Bachem and has joined the corporate executive committee. CEO Thomas Maier had hitherto been carrying out the COO role as well. Van Hees joined Bachem in 2024 after 25 years in various manufacturing leadership roles at Big Pharma companies.
