solid detergents have been developed with GC , which hydrolyse in the wash liquor to form glycerol and provide excellent hand-feel performance .
Reactive applications
One important reactive application is in intumescent paints ( Figure 2 ), where it swells to protect the structure below or seal it off in the event of a fire , thus making the fire self-extinguishing . As its flash point is very high , the proportion of it in the formulation can be increased .
Due to its dual functionality , Daxsol GC may also be used as synthetic intermediate ( Figure 3 ), chain extender and cross-linker . This includes new uses , such as a reaction with amines to make urethane-bonding and -blocking agents for isocyanides , offering excellent properties .
Daxsol GC can be used to obtain an interesting chemical like glycidol ( Figure 4 ). It has several uses as perfumes and cosmetics , detergents , paints , pharmaceuticals , etc . It is a high value chemical and the process to obtain the

glycidol proceeds with simultaneous decarboxylation of GC .
Lastly , Daxsol GC acts as a reactive is in the synthesis of polyurethanes without isocyanates ( NIPU ). Using it eliminates the need for isocyanates , which are toxic and moisture-sensitive ,
