Changes at Merck KGaA
As of 1 September , Katherine Dei Cas has taken over Jeff White ’ s role as head of Delivery Systems & Services at Merck KGaA , based in Tempe Arizona . White himself is relocating to Darmstadt to replace Dorothea Wenzel as head of Surface Solutions after she left the company . Earlier , Merck also named 17-year company veteran Renee Connolly as chief diversity equity and inclusion officer .
Loudermilk promoted
India- and US-based carbon black supplier Birla Carbon has promoted COO John Loudermilk to be its new CEO . Loudermilk has over 30 years of experience in chemicals , including 16 years in the carbon black business and over ten years with the Aditya Birla Group .
Compton returns to Alcami
US-based CDMO Alcami has appointed Timothy Compton as chief business officer . In a 25-year career in the field , Compton had served at predecessor company AAIPharma Services between 2010 and 2014 , later becoming VP of sales and marketing at Avista Pharma from 2015 to 2019 .
Davis heads VanDeMark
Phosgene specialist VanDeMark Chemical has named Jeff Davis to the position of president and CEO in place of Mike Kucharski , who is retiring from day-to-day operations to serve in an advisory role . Davis was most recently CEO of Cyanco , a producer of sodium cyanide reagents for gold and silver mining , and before that was with Evonik .
CFO change at Archroma
Thomas Bucher will be the new CFO at Swissbased textile chemicals firm Archroma from 1 October 2021 , when Roland Waibel will retire after eight years in the role . Bucher has had a long career in finance , having previously been CFO at Gategroup and , since 2015 , Alpiq Holding .
New COO at Nabaltec Preziotti to Boulder
Germany ’ s Nabaltec has named Dr Alexander Risch as its new COO as of 1 October , with a four-year contract from 1 January 2022 . He will join a three-man board along with CEO Johannes Heckmann and CFO Günther Spitzer . Previous COO Dr Michael Klimes did not wish to extend his contract into next year . Risch is a mineralogist with 22 years of previous experience at Hoffman Mineral .
Grover moves to CABB
The CABB Group has named industry veteran Dr Rajiv Grover to head sales for the Exclusives & Specialties division , reporting directly to CEO Valerie Diele-Braun . Grover arrives from a key account management position at the Aenova Group and was previously at Dolder , overseeing sales and procurement of APIs .
Following the retirement of Scott Birmingham , former Vertellus Specialties president and CEO Richard Preziotti has been named the new CEO of Boulder Scientific , a manufacturer of high-performance organometallic compounds used multiple applications . Preziotti had previously held roles at Honeywell and SI Group , among others .
