Applications: Pharmaceutical- Building block for APIs i. e. Antihistamines, Local Anesthetics and CNS-active Drugs.

Agrochemical- Production of Pesticides and Herbicides and improves efficiency of crop-protection compounds.

Organic Synthesis- Acts as a base or nucleophile in Alkylation, Acylation, Condensation reactions and Peptide synthesis. Also helps to stabilise reactive intermediates.

Speciality Chemicals- Used in several industrial formulations such as the production of corrosive inhibitors, surfactants and resins.

Solvent Uses- Use n-Ethylpiperidine instead of: TEA → if you want less volatility DIPEA → if you want less steric bulk Pyridine → if you want stronger, cleaner base Piperidine → if you want less nucleophilicity

Catalyst Uses- Acts as a catalyst in knoevenagel condensations, Aldol reactions and Michael additions by accepting protons in the reaction.
