Piramal, Ajinomoto in ADC technology deal

Under a newly announced strategic collaboration, Piramal Pharma Solutions( PPS) will refer applicable customers seeking ADC manufacturing technology to Ajinomoto Bio-Pharma Services and its Ajicap conjugation technology. Likewise, the latter will refer Piramal to customers as a potential CDMO for manufacturing products using Ajicap.
Ajicap is said to facilitate the development of site-specific ADCs and linker technologies through simple, efficient processes, enabling the early-stage development of ADCs with higher efficacy and lower toxicity.
Following on from this, the two companies will enter into a separate material transfer agreement to allow the transfer of technology between them. This, PPS said, will give it“ the expertise, capabilities and personnel for it to manufacture Ajicap-based products with precision and speed”.
PPS was the world’ s first FDAapproved ADC CDMO, has over 20 years of experience in the field and was the first CDMO to commercially manufacture an ADC. Recently, it completed the 1,500th ADC batch at its dedicated bioconjugates facility in Grangemouth, UK.
