Change at IMCD , CABB
Valerie Diele-Braun will become CEO of IMCD when Piet van der Slikke retires in January 2024 . Hitherto CEO of CABB , she has over 20 years of experience in the speciality chemicals and ingredients industry and has been on IMCD ’ s supervisory board since June 2020 . CABB has named Thomas Ahrens , CEO of speciality fertilisers company Compo Expert , to replace her when she leaves at the end of September .
Chemours shuffles the decks
Chemours has named Dr Amber Wellman chief sustainability officer after Sheryl Telford , the first person to hold the post , retired at the end of March . Wellman was most recently sustainability director for the Advanced Performance Materials segment . The company has also promoted Denise Dignam to be president of Titanium Technologies & Chemical Solutions , with Gerardo Familiar succeeding her as president of APM .
New I & W head at Kemira
Tuija Pohjolainen-Hiltunen has been appointed to lead Kemira ’ s Industry & Water ( I & W ) segment from 1 May . She had several international leadership positions in the Pulp & Paper and I & W segments since 2008 , the latest as SVP Commercial Pulp & Paper Americas . Interim I & W president Wido Waelput will continue as SVP , Industry & Water , EMEA and APAC .
Grün follows Brunk
Michael Grün , a former Lanxess and Münzing Chemie executive who was most recently employed as M & A advisor at WeylChem ’ s owner ICIG , has taken over as the firm ’ s CEO and president . He succeeds Uwe Brunk , who has stepped down after four and a half years and will now support ICIG in its growth projects in the future .
Curia names new CEO
CDMO Curia has appointed Philip Macnabb as CEO in place of John Ratliff . Macnabb has held multiple leadership roles in the healthcare industry . Curia ’ s private equity owners described him as “ a seasoned executive who has an impressive track record of focusing companies on their core value proposition , enhancing the customer experience and building organisations with real and sustaining value ”.
All change at Alcami
US-based CDMO Alcami has named 35-year company veteran Ken Morgan as its new CFO and brought in Jamie Iudica as CMO . Their predecessors – Eric Evans and Ken Domagalski respectively – are both retiring in 2023 . Alcami has also appointed Jessica Cao as VP of marketing and promoted Katie Schlipp to be president of laboratory operations .
Glander to Biesterfeld
Dr Stephan Glander has taken over as CEO of the Biesterfeld Group , a German , family-owned speciality chemicals and materials distributor . Prior to this , he had been CEO of BYK , a division of Altana . Glander has also worked at Röchling , Quadrant and Bayer , and consulted for other major German companies .
