A new liquid packaging design

Filling an agricultural sprayer with crop protection products can be a complex and time-consuming activity . It is also reported to carry the highest level of risk for possible exposure for the farmer or operator , as well as some risk for point source contamination from the farmyard . Farmers follow several practices to safely prepare field applications . This includes using a dedicated concrete filling area , capturing possible spills when filling , plus triple-rinsing emptied containers and storing them for collection . There is now an opportunity to further improve the on-farm handling of crop protection products by developing new technologies that meet farmers ’ needs and make their day-today operations simpler and safer .

In 2020 , the crop protection industry body CropLife Europe made six commitments to contribute to the objectives of the European Green Deal and its Farm to Fork Strategy . One commitment was around ‘ Protecting people and the environment - More targeted ways to protect crops with less impact on nature ’.
