The first post-COVID ChemCon Asia conference takes place in June in Bangkok

ChemCon Asia 2024 , part of the world ’ s largest global conferences series in the field of chemical control regulation , takes place at the Avani + Riverside Bangkok Hotel in Thailand across the week of 3-7 June . This is the first time it has happened in the Asia-Pacific region since 2019 .

ChemCon conferences bring together experts from competent authorities , international organisations and institutions , company and scientific experts , lawyers and politicians . They cover chemical control , with a focus on new chemical notification , chemical inventories , existing chemical assessment , classification and labelling , hazard communication , product registration and risk assessment . An exhibition runs alongside , mostly featuring service providers to the chemical sector like CROs and IT compliance systems suppliers .
The week of ChemCon Asia 2024 begins on Monday , 3 June , with a workshop on ‘ Interacting With Regulators Around the Globe ’. It is free to attend for those registered for the subsequent seminars on ‘ Enforcement & Compliance Approaches ’ and ‘ An Inventory on Data Sharing & Data Management ’ around globe , which are priced at € 400 .
Attendance at the conference , with about 50 speakers from 25 countries , costs € 2,950 , though various group discounts are available . You can register to attend via the official website . Session themes on the first two days as follows :

• Wednesday 5 June : Southeast Asia , Global Approach to Notification of Polymers & New Chemicals , The Americas One entirely new feature this year , which will be extended to the other regional ChemCon shows , is the ‘ Inspire Investment in Sustainable Growth Forum ’, which will bring together investors , industry experts and regulators across two days to share and explore implementation and investment experiences in a green and sustainable chemical industry value chain .
During the last ChemCon Europe in Vienna , a ‘ Sustainable Friday ’ was added to the agenda , with multiple sustainability-related topics from eco-design to the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive and the digital product passport . This same focus will take place on ‘ Sustainable Thursday ’, 6 June , in Bangkok , but the discussions will include an extra audience , of investors , banks , ESG coordinators and similar .
“ This audience needs to understand the chemical industry value chain and its sustainability challenges in order to make the right investment decisions ,” said conference director Tjeerd Bokhout . The presentations , given by more than 20 speakers from governments and industry will focus on :
