DCAT Week : Back in person
The key global event for companies engaged in the pharmaceutical manufacturing value chain returns to New York in March
After a two-year hiatus caused by the COVID-19 pandemic , DCAT Week will resume as an in-person event at its usual location in Midtown Manhattan on 21-24 March . The organiser , the Drug , Chemical & Associated Technologies Association , describes DCAT Week as a multifaceted event , where its member companies “ have the opportunity to reserve meeting space through the DCAT organisation to conduct highlevel , private , strategic meetings with customers and suppliers ” in breakout rooms , suites and rooms at the official hotels . DCAT members represent a broad range of products and services for the entire pharmaceutical manufacturing value chain . They include innovator companies , generic drug and biosimilar companies , C ( D ) MOs , manufacturers of APIs , intermediates and drug products , distributors , agents and many more . The 1,000 + attendees typically come from such functions as :
• Sourcing , procurement & supply management of direct materials
• Business counterparts on the supply side in business development , sales , marketing , manufacturing & quality operations
• Corporate-related support functions , including licensing There is also a raft of education sessions and networking events spread across the course of the week , culminating in the DCAT Annual Dinner on 24 March . This is one of the largest events in any industry in the US , with more than 2,000 guests . The guest speaker this year is Hollywood actress Nicole Kidman . The official hotels for DCAT Week are the Benjamin , Hotel 48LEX ,
the InterContinental Barclay , the Lexington Hotel , the Lotte NY Palace and the San Carlos . Member lounges are also located at the InterContinental Barclay and the Lotte NY Palace , and are open from 8.00 to 17.00 from 21 to 23 March and to 16.00 on 24 March . The DCAT Week office , also in the InterContinental Barclay is the place to register on-site for programmes and events and pick up Annual Dinner badges . The event schedule is as follows . Before attending , you should check the COVID-19 protocols on the DCAT Week website . New York still had quite strict restrictions in place at the time of writing and DCAT requires that member companies with reserved business meeting space check for proof of full vaccination and identification for all guests entering it . •
