Heraeus in antimicrobial deal
Under a new technical and commercial collaboration, Heraeus Precious Metals will apply its AGXX technology to CarboTech’ s activated carbons to give them an antimicrobial function. It will also be responsible for further development and optimisation of AGXX and ensuring that all regulatory requirements for the target markets are met.
This, the company said, will ensure long-lasting inhibition of microbial growth on the surface of the activated carbon for more reliable and hygienic water filtration in industrial and household applications alike. Granules incorporating AGXX have demonstrated high antimicrobial efficacy in ASTM tests.
