Game changers in process equipment
In a world where trends come and go , International Process Plants ( IPP ) hates following the pack , so its leaders have anticipated , adjusted and adapted for more than 45 years . This innovative spirit has served 160,000 global customers well , making IPP a go-to source for quality used process plants and equipment .
Today , the company is taking another giant step , introducing new process equipment from Gale Process Solutions , a new subsidiary . GPS will set industry standards for delivery time while maintaining quality and cost customers expect . IPP is also making strides into equipment technologies , acquiring the Porcupine Processor™ line of dryers , heaters , reactors and coolers .
Building on legacy
Taken together , these offerings build on IPP ’ s legacy of reliable service , expertise in sourcing and delivering quality equipment .
“ We ’ re all about providing customers options they want and need , and we understand the market wants quick delivery of quality equipment at the right price ,” says Ross Gale , vice president of IPP Group . “ Providing choices on new or used equipment and delivering service and expertise built across nearly a half century assures the market will respond .”
IPP has proven that before . Thirty years ago , IPP founded Universal Glasteel Equipment ( UGE ) to expand offerings into re-glassed glass-lined steel equipment and parts .
Once again , customers are why IPP adapts .
With increasing demand for scarce used equipment , IPP can now ensure a constant supply of the most popular equipment and custom-order process equipment .

For example , Gale says , GPS stocks new cGMP , National Board U-stamped 316L stainless steel and hastelloy reactors in 2,000- , 4,000- and 6,000-gallon ( about 7,500 , 15,000 and 22,500 million L ) capacities , as well as glass-lined reactors in all sizes . Shipping times can be 0 to 12 weeks .
Fully custom-built reactors , heat exchangers , centrifuges , dryers , filters , filter-dryers , mixers and granulators and more can be fabricated and delivered in between eight and 28 weeks .
Cutting lead times
“ Reducing lead time can dramatically affect a manufacturer ’ s ability to have new capabilities online faster to win business , especially when lead times from major OEMs can be 12 months or longer ,” Gale says .
At the same time , Gale says , IPP remains committed to delivering the value used-equipment customers expect . Consistently acquiring design-fab capacity from world-class partners empowers IPP to provide top-tier equipment without inflating costs to meet accelerated schedules .
GPS ’ s partner facilities are stocked with standard equipment , so custom orders can be inserted in the production queue , making it “ the biggest differentiator for us versus other new equipment suppliers ,” adds Keith West , global director of equipment sales at IPP Group .
All GPS equipment is designed in accordance with ASME Section VIII Div . 2 and can be National Board U-stamped , CRN registered , or EU PED / CE marked , underscoring IPP ’ s commitment to quality and safety .
IPP ’ s acquisition of the Porcupine Processor technology , formerly of the Bethlehem Corp ., is another innovative solution . This indirectly heated paddle type continuous or batch dryer , cooler and reactor , boasts a high heat transfer coefficient .
“ The Porcupine is unique . Not only is the shaft heated , but the paddles and trough jacket are as well , which work great on several materials , including but not limited to products that experience a phase change during the drying process ,” says Jan Gale , EVP and co-founder of IPP . GPS can design and build Porcupine dryers , coolers and reactors to complement IPP ’ s used dryers .
Used equipment , of course , remains a compelling choice for IPP customers for several notable reasons : 1 . Fast delivery from inventory of 15,000 process pieces . 2 . Cost-efficiency to meet budgets . 3 . Environmental sustainability , giving machinery a new lease on life .
Outlook
In the competitive and dynamic landscape of chemical , speciality and fine chemical , and pharmaceutical manufacturing , time-to-market and execution cost are critical , especially for contract manufacturers . The IPP companies are seamlessly growing from a leader in used equipment sales to an innovative supplier of new equipment with industry-leading delivery times . ●
