Two move up at SK
CDMO SK Pharmteco has appointed Joerg Ahlgrimm ( pictured ) as its new CEO , following the retirement of Dr Aslam Malik . Ahlgrimm was formerly head of global operations for pharma and biotech at Lonza . The company has also named David Lowndes , a 38-year pharma industry veteran , as COO . He will lead the supply chain , quality , regulatory affairs , R & D , IT / digital and operational excellence functions .
Dettner managing Bubendorf
Peptides giant Bachem has announced that Frank Dettner has taken on the role of site manager at its headquarters and largest site in Bubendorf , Switzerland , as of 1 January . Dettmer has been with Bachem since 2009 in various R & D positions , becoming site manager at the site in Torrance , California , in 2020 . He succeeds Beat Sax , who has taken over a new role as lead of strategic initiatives .
Friede to Brenntag
Michael Friede will become COO of Brenntag Specialties and join the company ’ s management board from 1 April , after Henri Nejade decided not to extend his contract . Friede arrives from Akzo Nobel where he is CCO of Performance Coatings . He had previously been head of one of Covestro ’ s three global business units .
Elliott heads VanDeMark
VanDeMark has named Jim Elliott as its new CEO in place of Jeff Davis , who has stepped down . Elliott most recently served as VP and general manager of Vertellus ’ Performance Materials business and previously spent seven years in global strategic marketing roles with Dow Silicones where he held several global strategic marketing roles .
Buckland joins Emmes
Maryland-based CRO Emmes has named Wendy Buckland as its COO , leading global operations . She had previously headed PPD ’ s neuroscience therapeutic unit , with responsibility for strategy , client satisfaction , operational delivery , profitability and talent development , as well as oversight for all clinical development programs in neuroscience and ophthalmology .
Nouryon appoints Clark
Philip Clark has joined Nouryon from 3M as senior VP and chief technology officer , with responsibility for global technology and innovation strategies in alignment with the company ’ s sustainability and growth targets . He will also serve as the business leader building research capabilities in support of the company ’ s strategic direction .
New CFO at Evonik
Maike Schuh , currently head of the Performance Materials division , is to replace Ute Wolf as CFO of German speciality chemicals giant Evonik with effect from 1 April . Wolf has left the company after 17 years , including seven as CFO and nine on the executive board .
