INNOVATION IN GRINDING
Lizzini- Wallram Grindtec is celebrating its 80th anniversary at EMO 2025. Founded by brothers Arturo and Giacomo Lizzini, this company from Montichiari( Brescia) developed its first applications in the field of precision optics before moving on to tool sharpening, and finally to cylindrical grinding machines, becoming a major international player in this latter segment. In 2011 Lizzini was taken over by the German company Wallram Group, a world leader in the production of carbide tools for the beverage industry with operations in Europe and the USA. Today, at its modern headquarters in Montichiari, Lizzini designs and builds its machines in-house, providing direct support worldwide. Lizzini supplies countless companies operating in all key sectors of precision mechanics: automotive, energy, hydrodynamics, transmissions, motorsports, and much more. It also offers a wide range of services as a subcontractor for some of the best and most exacting manufacturing companies, especially in Italy.
Tailored solutions, cutting-edge technologies, experienced staff and excellent service are the cornerstones of the success of Lizzini, an Italian grinding machine manufacturer belonging to the German Wallram Group.
THE COMPANY’ S CORNERSTONES To meet market demands, Lizzini relies on its long-standing cornerstones: tailored solutions, as each project is discussed in detail with the customer in order to individuate the most effective technical options; cutting-edge technologies, an area in which Lizzini has always been committed to innovation, as testified by the granite beds, linear motors, torque drives, and many other technical solutions pioneered by Lizzini in the machine tool industry, in Italy and abroad; experienced staff, as every company is made up of people, and Lizzini has always given its employees the opportunity to express their potential, believing in the growth of each individual; last but not least, service, as the perfect machine doesn’ t yet exist, and in the meantime, it is essential to take care of machines with top-notch solutions, which is why Lizzini directly handles the customer support service.
TECHNOLOGY ON DISPLAY Lizzini will be exhibiting its flagship IG-FXL model at EMO 2025: a universal grinding machine capable of machining workpieces up to 1,500 mm in length, equipped with two external and two internal grinding wheels. The bed is made of natural granite to ensure maximum dimensional stability. The X and Z axes are driven by standard linear motors for the highest possible accuracy and dynamic performance. The B axis is equipped with a torque motor and direct encoder in order to machine every angle. In addition to cylindrical parts, asymmetrical parts such as cams, lobes, geometric shapes, or threads can also be machined by simply retrieving the corresponding function from the HMI. The Micron programming interface was developed entirely in-house by Lizzini and was originally designed to operate as a touchscreen for maximum simplicity and user-friendliness.
