Ayden is our only child, but my husband and I are houseparents at a residential therapeutic facility for children in crisis. We live in a house with 7 other middle school aged boys. So Ayden has a lot of others boys around.
Ayden is home with us and not in preschool yet. He does PT, OT, ST, and aquatic therapy. He is strong and healthy. He was diagnosed with Transient Leukemia when he was 2 weeks old. Thankfully, It has cleared itself up, but we see the Leukemia specialist every 3 months due to the risk of it returning.
I feel that having a child with Down syndrome is a blessing not a burden. Ayden, has taught be more about life in his 2 years then I could ever teach him in a lifetime!
These photos were taken by my husband. It is not professional, however he is getting very good at photography and is considering starting a photography business with an emphasis on children with special needs.
