"I am a young mother of a child with Down syndrome. He was my first born and I was 21. The doctors prepared me for the worst. I thought that my son would never be able to do the things that other children would. I was a new mom, I didn't even know how to raise a child. I had so many worries. However, I put all my worries aside and raised Micah as I would any other child. He has done so great! He has achieved every milestone and his only delay is in Speech. He is not yet able to articulate words, or put them together in a sentance but he does great communicating in other ways though."

" My advice to new parents of a child with Down syndrome is: Don't treat your child any differently.
They will reach their milestones like everyone else.
It may take a little bit longer but they WILL get there. They are more than capable of doing what others without Down syndrome can do. Josephyne has never been treated any differently than our other children and I do believe that it has helped her in her learning and confidence." - Stacy H.
