gies . They were a music software company that created music scores on the fly for the movie industry . Software let a director create a temporary score in minutes without needing a music background . After the initial meeting with the President of the company , Jonathan landed the job of taking the company and software to the public market . This lead to his first meeting with music superstar Mick Fleetwood , who was an investor in Accordance and Jonathan reminisces , “ I ’ ll never forget meeting Mick . He was six foot six , muscular with long hair . He was the nicest and coolest guy you could hope for as a pitchman for a company creating new music technology . I walked into the conference room and he was backlit , facing me , and in front of a large window . It really looked like I was seeing Jesus for a moment . The rest is our 30 year history together .” Together they worked on the Accordance project and JT sold the software to all sectors including the health care world under the brand MUSE Music Therapy Edition , which helped therapists work with patients who had brain injuries become creative with music without the usual dexterity needed to play an instrument .
The parallels between magic and music were not lost on Jonathan , who had studied classical guitar and toured Spain as an amateur Flamenco guitarist , and he found he loved helping those less fortunate . So did Fleetwood and the two bonded over the good they felt they were doing . MUSE did so well that Mick asked Jonathan , “ How do you bring the sales and goodness we are doing here to this creature ( pointing to himself ) and my Fleetwood Mac world ?” Jonathan said , “ Well , Mick , you hire me and I create a company called Fleetwood Enterprises , and you pay me a fortune up front and give me a piece of all I create with you ! Simple !” The next day Jonathan got documents from Mick ’ s legal team creating a company called Fleetwood Enterprises and naming Jonathan as its director . The retainer and points were fantastic ( as all things done by Fleetwood turned out to be “ Deluxe ” in every way ) and Jonathan became the ruler of a multinational empire promoting one of the greatest iconic rockers of all time . involved with marketing , production and producing music for the next 30 years . “ You think when
you mess up a trick in front of 5,000 people that it ’ s tough ?” said JT . “ Try looking Mick Fleetwood in the eye and telling him that he ’ s wrong and he needs to do it YOUR way ! The man is Rock Royalty and he is such a powerful presence that it took me years to learn to really , gently , then roughly , then gently , swing Mick to the selling side of the music business . But in some ways , Mick taught me how to live life and go after the things money cannot buy . We both were avid photographers and we ’ d sometimes blow a whole day off chasing photos together and miss a million dollar deadline .
With a love and understanding of music and his background in marketing and selling Jonathan ultimately wound up producing over a hundred records . One of the innovations Jonathan introduced was the release of a Mick Fleetwood drumming loop tool for composers which was he got inked and marketed through Sony Digital . Jonathan says , “ Mick did this project like he does everything — with so much class . He brought in instruments from all over the world and it became a number one selling item for Sony Music .”
From there Mick and Jonathan created The Mick Fleetwood Blues Band which Jonathan would manage and was a separate entity from Fleetwood Mac . They would travel to Blues Festivals all over the world sometimes doing 60 shows a month . It was for one of these albums , BLUE AGAIN , that they got a Grammy Nomination . Jonathan as the Producer . One of the proudest moments in Jonathan ’ s life .
Over the years Jonathan has created and helped brand the Fleetwood world including creating the restaurant “ Fleetwoods on Front Street ,” an upscale sophisticated restaurant with a rooftop bar offering ocean views in Hawaii . Jonathan oversaw the entire process from his initial creation of the idea , to the fundraising , design and building of the property . After flying weekly from LA to Hawaii for two years on this project , he finally made the decision to move to Hawaii where he continues to live . “ It ’ s Paradise ,” said JT . “ Nothing in the world compares to MAUI where there is still a sense of adventure , exploration , and where the people are full of a happy Aloha spirit .
