TRY SOME YOGA

If you are feeling like you just can’t face a workout perhaps try taking some time to try a few minutes of meditation. A few years ago I had some bead news and couldn’t seem to stop worrying, leading me to not sleep properly and some very low moments. I enrolled on a mindfulness course, which helped me train my brain to stop worrying about the things that I feared of most. The brain takes the stress of the things we worry about that may never happen as if we are living with the worse case scenario. This stress can contribute to anxiety, depression and even cancer. A simple 5 mins can really help clear the mind and break a negative thought pattern. Here is a link to the NHS website with some really useful techniques.

There also several apps such as “Headspace” which you may find useful and will guide you to stop that feeling of spinning lots of plates and trying desperately to not let one break.

You don’t have to super flexible to practice yoga, there are many types so it’s worth taking the time to find the right one for you. There are lots of guided yoga practices available on the internet that can take you through a 20 minute series of guided breathing. Never underestimate the power of some mindful inhalations and exhalations. Taking a few minutes out of your day can lead to improved energy and reducing feelings of anxiety. There are many community yoga classes which are a great way to connect to your community.
