Many of our food preferences stem from what we are exposed to, rather than inherent preferences, beyond a fairly universal love of sweet flavours!

Taught by a fully trained NCT practioner with a special interest in nutrition, the Baby’s Taste JourneyTM courses go beyond the weaning stage to focus on making food more pleasurable, encouraging play by having fun with food, and incorporating patience into the whole process. They have been developed with Catherine Gazzoli, creator of Baby’s Taste JourneyTM, who is recognised as a leading food educator and is a passionate campaigner for the enjoyment of good food for little people.

“Having worked in food education and as a mum myself, it is such a pleasure to be working with the NCT on this unique course introducing new tastes, healthy eating and promoting family mealtimes to children. Babies develop their taste preferences very early on, what they eat as their first foods can influence their lifelong diet.

By giving parents valuable and insightful strategies, recipes and tips during the workshops, we can help them to create the foundations for a lifetime of enjoyable eating for their children,” says Catherine

The workshops are aimed at parents of children aged 6 – 24 months and children are welcome to attend too. The daytime courses last 2 hours and cost £32 per person.

With increases in childhood obesity and its related diseases, this interactive workshop is keen to empower parents and carers to make healthy food choices for their children and make mealtimes fun!

Studies have shown that babies introduced to a variety of first foods tend to choose a wider variety of foods throughout their childhood which may encourage a healthier diet in the long- term.
