Hey guys, I’m Tricia and I’ll be your second year representative for this year! I have gone through wonderful times here at Murdoch in my first year and have learnt lots! Here are some hints of what I did in my first year: STUDIES  Get involved in the peer tutoring program – Fire them with questions and you’ll get all your answers! Plus, they are really friendly!  Understand what your lecturer is looking for in assignments  Create good terms with your lecturers  Have your own study group the more minds the better!  Do not skip any workshop or lecturers - attend them all!  Highlight your notes - it helps!  Place tags on the textbook  Make sure you are using APA referencing and double check it  Rephrase - do not copy!  Find the First Year Advisors (FYA)  Head down to the School of Education library  Always read the reader before attending the workshop  Print lecture slides a day before and look up on it SCHOOL PLACEMENTS  Be friendly to all staff  Be observant of the staff, school policy and students  Get a head start to prepare for your lessons  Observe how the teachers carry out their lesson and go with the flow  Observe how the class management is carried out  Always check the technology involved to avoid any disturbances during the lesson "You are not alone!"
