the village would have a big party and carry that person’s house to put it in place! Now, the idea of Bayanihan has become a lot vaguer, but the essence of it is still present. Last year, when Typhoon Yolanda struck, lots of people stood up and helped each other out. Here, people do that too, but in the Philippines, the view of it is held higher. In the Philippines, it’s almost as if everyone is friends with one another! Bayanihan is a Filipino mentality that still thrives today! It’s well-known to the Filipino community. The spirit of Bayanihan reflects generosity, unity, friendship and being a good person. It is encouraged everywhere in the Philippines and is a way of life.
