Have you seen what they’ve seen?
Have you felt what they’ve felt?
To see your father’s life end
before your eyes…
Is to be harshly awoken by
the reality of mortality,
Losing your last love,
and consequently,
your will to live.
To see others experience death,
and to gravely anticipate your own…
Is to have an unrelenting paranoia,
relieved only by the event in question.
Could you ever understand?
To see your wealth, health, and dignity, snatched from you overnight
and to be surrounded by
starving, naked, and poor lives
sharing in your suffering…
Is to have your own companionship stemming from the strife thrust upon you,
in circumstances so absurd and blind
to your opinion that you are
suddenly lost in
desperation and sorrow.
To see a person,
one like yourself,
order the starvation and death of
countless individuals with
a similar lifestyle to yours…
Is to have hope sucked from your soul
Could you ever understand?
To see once living innocent children and babies’ bodies, charred by the masses into
unrecognizable mounds of molten flesh, causing you to choke both in your tears and on the air
that has been saturated with death…
Is to have Satan himself stare you in the eye and drown you in flames!
How can one suffer and starve as they are worked to a death, one which the living tragically
desire as a relief to the unbearable pain forced upon them?
By humans, “equal” humans, who have viciously ended the lives of others!
Would the manufacturers of the Holocaust ever want to take it back?
Could there ever be a consolation?
We cannot fully comprehend death as is, let alone the horrific ones of 6 million.
Could you ever understand?
by a vacuum of sin.
Could you ever understand?
To see once living innocent
children and babies’ bodies, charred
by the masses into
unrecognizable mounds of molten flesh,
causing you to choke both in your tears
and on the air that has been saturated
with death...
Is to have Satan himself stare you in the eye
and drown you in flames!
How can one suffer and starve
as they are worked to a death,
one which the living tragically desire
as a relief to the unbearable pain
forced upon them?
By humans, “equal” humans,
who have viciously ended the lives of others!
Would the manufacturers of the Holocaust ever want to take it back?
Could there ever be a consolation?
We cannot fully comprehend death as is,
let alone the horrific ones of 6 million.
Could you ever understand?
