Editor's Letter
The Spartan Echo Newspaper is back and better than ever! As we enter this new chapter of our historic newspaper, we are rebranding.
My goal as the new Editor-in-Chief is change. The echo is in a transitioning process, starting with a change in staff, layouts, and more.
However, these adjustments will go beyond visual. We will be utilizing the fact that we are newly digital to the fullest.
Please look forward to new sections that will not only ensure that important stories are told, but will exhibit the creativtiy of our students at NSU.
We will also be updating our website.
Our staff has grown tremendously, it has been an honor to meet so many eager writers, photographers, and social media specialists who are ready to take the Echo to the next level of journalism. I am extremely grateful for our few editors that we have now and I am looking forward to appointing more staff to editor positions next semester.
The Spartan Echo staff is working to localize our paper. The issues on NSU's campus are always a priority, but there also other stories in the that are just as important.
We want our stories and our readership to go beyond the campus of Norfolk State University. The new and improved Spartan Echo is more than a newspaper, it is a reliable source in the Spartan community and beyond. Hence the change of our tagline.
In this issue, we provide you with stories ranging from sports, programs on campus, to internatonal stories. We hope that the variety of stories will relate to you and inform you, our audience.
In closing, I want to thank my family, friends, and professors for reminding me that I can do this job. Next semester, Spring 2023, we will be fully staffed and publishing much more often. Until then, please enjoy this issue of the Spartan Echo!
Best regards and happy reading,
