Annual Mee,ng Recogni,ons
The Sparta Area Chamber of Commerce 2020 Annual Mee7ng and Banquet will take place on
Thursday, January 16, 2020 at Jake’s Northwoods Restaurant. In addi7on to a short business
mee7ng, an excellent dinner, entertainment, and social 7me the evening honors a variety of
individuals, organiza7ons and businesses for their outstanding contribu7ons from the
previous year.
Chamber members have the opportunity to nominate individuals and organiza7ons for
recogni7on in several categories. Nominees are considered by the Chamber Board of
Directors who make the final decision. Nomina7ons are being accepted un7l the close of
business on December Monday, December 9 for the following recogni7ons.
Community Service Award. This award recognizes individuals or organiza7ons with a history
of outstanding contribu7ons to the Sparta area. Recent honorees include Delores Bowen,
Eve Heitzman, Amy Bernath, Chief David Kuderer, and the Wisconsin Challenge Academy.
Not-for-Profit Chamber Member of the Year (NEW). This award recognizes service
organiza7ons and other not-for-profit chamber members for their outstanding contribu7ons
to the Sparta area in the past year, or for their long-standing history of …….
Young Adult Community Service Award (NEW). This award recognizes a youth or young
adult who has provided significant community service or volunteerism to an organiza7on or
to the Sparta area in the past year. Nomina7ons must be generated by an organiza7on or
individual who has benefiXed from the service of the nominee.
Other awards presented at the Annual Banquet include the President’s Pride Award, most
recently given to the 1 st Community Credit Union; the Ambassadors “You Are ‘Preciated”
Award (YAP) most recently presented to Anne Axelsen; Life,me Honorary Chamber
Memberships, most recently granted to Bob Ohm, Carol Ostrem, and Todd Fahning; and the
Outstanding New Business or Organiza,on - a new award to be presented in January.
Nomina7ons for the Community Service Award, the Not-for-Profit Chamber Member of the
Year, and the Young Adult Community Service Award may be submiXed using the following
nomina7on form. Nomina7ons must be received at the Chamber office by the close of
business on Monday, December 9, 2019.
