A big thank you to the La Crosse Area Astronomical Society for making BikeSparta’s first Full Moon
Bike Ride of the year a big success. On Sunday evening, April 29, bikers rode east from the depot and
met up with the astronomers who had set up their telescopes along the bike trail. It was a beautiful,
clear night. Bikers were able to view the full moon, planets and stars and learned a lot from the club
members.
Monthly meetings of the Astronomy Society are held at the UW-LaCrosse Planetarium on the first
Wednesday of each month. The open meeting starts at 7:15 PM. The public is invited to club observing
sessions.
