12 - The Sparta Ambassador - March2020 HEARTSAVER CPR/AED COURSE Sudden cardiac arrest is the leading cause of death in the U.S., with nearly 4 of 5 cases occurring outside a hospital. With training, you can improve the chances of survival. The “Heartsaver CPR/AED” course targets lay responders, including coaches, teachers, day care providers and anyone interested in learning more about CPR and automated external defibrillators (AED). Students are trained in: • • • • How to perform CPR How to use barrier devices Relief of foreign body airway obstruction Automated external defibrillation in adults, children and infants MONDAYS Feb. 24, April 27 or June 22 6 to 9 p.m. Mayo Clinic Health System 310 W.
