3 - The Sparta Ambassador -June 2020
Meet Our New Executive Director of the Sparta Area Chamber of Commerce.
Heidi Prestwood
Heidi Prestwood lives in Cataract with her
husband and their two sons. She initially became
involved with the Chamber and what
it does due to her previous employer, SERV-
PRO. Ever since that first membership committee
meeting, she has done what she can to
help Sparta grow. Her first big project was
helping with the organization of the Sparta
Area Young Professionals. Together, they
have volunteered throughout the community
picking up trash, playing games at Rolling
Hills with the residents, promoting lunch and
learn opportunities, hosting the Annual Chili
Cook-Off during Fall Fest, and being of service
to the Chamber directly.
From there, she has taken on the Chair position
of the Sparta Ambassadors. She coordinates
the meetings, events that the group partakes
in, and had a hand in the planning of the
Honorary Citizen event that the Ambassadors
do every September.
“I am excited to begin this
new adventure.”
She has sat on the Board of Directors for the better part of the last three years, and was voted
into the seat of President-Elect this last winter. She sits on numerous committees besides
membership that include the planning committees for Cabin Fever, Ol’ Fashion 4th of July,
the annual golf outing, and Fall Fest. She was awarded at the Annual Meeting in February,
‘Volunteer of the Year’.
Besides the Chamber, Heidi is a co-leader for the local 4H group in Cataract and is new to
the Sparta Area School District Board of Education. “I am excited to begin this new adventure.
I am lucky that I get to come into this position knowing a lot of the people that I will
be working with on a daily basis. I am excited to see what we can do all together.”
