June Recap...
On June 20, the Chamber’s monthly BA5
was held at Sparta Floral and Greenhouses.
Participants got an opportunity to tour the
buildings - a Sparta landmark currently
operated by a third generation of the Solberg
family. Eric Solberg gave a presentation
and answered gardening questions from the
group.
Members of the Oak Park Illinois Trout Unlimited
organization made their annual trip to Sparta on
Saturday June 22 to build fish LUNKERS and support
the excellent fish habitat we have in the Sparta area.
Following the Saturday morning work session at
Sparta’s Fishermen’s Park, the men enjoyed trout fishing
in area streams.
The Chamber’s Tourism Council has taken on a new
initiative to better promote our excellent fishing resource.
On June 19, the Chamber members and
Ambassadors participated in a ribbon
cutting for the new Sparta offices of Referral
Staffing Solutions, now located at 310 W.
Wisconsin Street.
