A ribbon cutting celebrating the opening of the new Gamers Sanctum, 138 North Water Street in Sparta, will be held on Saturday, December 8, at noon. Gamers Sanctum provides a family friendly environment focused on in-person social gaming. The store’s Game Room is open to the public and provides demonstration games for everyone to use. The store focuses on card games such as Magic: the Gathering and Pokemon, board games, and roll playing games such as Dungeons & Dragons. Tim Krauss (owner) has over 10 years of retail experience, with 4 of those years in the gaming industry. Tim volunteers with the Sparta High School Game Club and the Tomah High School Chess and Board Game Club. Tim has been an avid gamer for more than 25 years. "I look forward to providing an enjoyable and safe environment for gamers, and will have a wide variety of card game and board game products for people of all ages and interests." Store hours will be Sunday (11 am - 6 pm), Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday (2 pm - 8 pm), Friday (2 pm - 10 pm), and Saturday (11 am - 7 pm). The store will be closed on Tuesdays. As part of the grand opening celebration, customers will receive 10% off their purchases on December 8 and 9.
