Bike Station Updates
Earlier this spring the city announced the
procurement of bike stations. With local grants
from the City Tourism Board and a generous
donation from U.S. Silica, the Sparta Parks & Rec
department were able to purchase four bike repair
stations. These stations will be placed throughout
the city, allowing cyclists to make minor repairs to
their bicycles on their own. The designated
locations for the bike stations include:
The Elroy-Sparta Trail, Amundsen Park, Deke
Slayton Museum, and Meadowview School.
Last week, volunteers from U.S. Silica
poured a cement foundation and set the
bike repair stations located at Amundsen
Park, The Elroy-Sparta Trail, and
Meadowview School. In the next week they
will be working on finishing the bike repair
station located at the Deke Slayton
Museum.
Thank you to U.S. Silica and the City of
Sparta Tourism Committee, and the City of
Sparta Parks and Rec Department.
