What ’ s Happening From Heidi …
Good morning , Sparta ! Where do I even begin this month ?? We are into September and the planning of fall and winter events has begun . We have some great events in the works ; I hope to see many of you out and about enjoying what all the city and the chamber have to offer .
Even though I am not ready to see the leaves change color and the temperatures to drop , I am excited for bon fires and hoodies ; craft fairs and cold bier . We start with the Co-Starters program that will set sail next week . Please let me know if you know of someone that needs some help getting their business up and running in front of the holiday season . There is also about $ 2,000 available for Pop-Up Shops . If you have been downtown lately , I am sure that you have seen the many store fronts that are empty . I hope to help change this with the pop-up shop money . Saturday , September 10 there will be a few different things going on … 1 ) Military Appreciation on South Post . We have invited local businesses out to show military spouses that we have work available even if they are here for only a few months or a few years . 2 ) September 10 is also a MiMS concert in Mueller Square . Saturday , September 11 , will be a big day as well . As we reflect as a city , and as a nation , we look back and remember those that lost their lives on this day , 20 years ago . We should spend some time thinking about those that did make it out and those that are still struggling-just trying to get through each and every day . We are grateful for those that share their story with us so we do not forget the fight that started that day . Theisen ’ s of Sparta will be sponsoring a Touch-A-Truck event and will include local EMS , Wisconsin DNR , Railroad EMS , Fire and Iron Motorcycle Club , and Wings over Wisconsin to name a few . The Sparta Chamber is sponsoring a local Hero ’ s Wall for community members to write their well wishes to their hero . This event starts at 7:00 AM .
There will be a Kriskindlmarkt fundraising event in Mueller Square on the 17 th with Carlos Danger playing from 6-9:30 PM .
Vendor Registration is open for Sparta Fall Fest , which will be October 9 th . Kriskindlmarkt Vendor registration will open October 1 , 2021 . Please go to our Facebook Page or our new web-site to find that link . We are also hosting the “ Sparta Trails to Trout ” Fishing Derby from October 2-10 .
