ETERNAL MONARCH REMEMBRANCE CEREMONY

BY DENISSE THILLET- TIRADO, M. A., ASSOC DEAN OF STUDENTS & DIRECTOR OF DEAN OF STUDENT OPERATIONS
On April 30, Student and Campus Life( SCL) hosted its inaugural Eternal Monarch Remembrance Ceremony to honor students who have passed away during the academic year. Led by the Dean of Students Office, the event reflected the university’ s unwavering commitment to caring for its students and their families, while celebrating the enduring impact each student has had on the campus community. Associate Dean of Students, Denisse Thillet-Tirado shared,“ Our Eternal Monarchs left an indelible mark on the lives they touched, and we want their families to know that they are forever woven into the fabric of our story”.
Family members of the students were graciously invited to attend and received a commemorative Eternal Monarchs coin— a symbol that their loved ones will never be forgotten and will always remain a cherished part of the Monarch family. One attending mother shared her heartfelt sentiments following the ceremony:“ Thank you so much for this heartbreaking yet hearthealing event.”
The ceremony featured meaningful contributions from university representatives, the SGA President, and the F. Ludwig Diehn Chorale, all of whom helped create a touching and memorable experience. This remembrance provided a valuable opportunity for the university community to reaffirm its dedication to supporting all our Monarchs, as we come together to honor these students’ lives and grieve alongside their families.
