Party it up with RubberDuc!
Rubber Duc is a fresh South African four-piece band made up of Nick Jordaan, Brendan Campbell,
Sheldon Sham and Amiel Gopal. The DUC sound is fun and authentic, with cheerful, catchy
melodies and clever lyrics that stick in your mind, and songs that make you want to dance.
Is it folk? Is it pop? Is it swing? Or is it all of the above? You decide! Rubber Duc believe
that music provides a platform to bring people together, to change the world, even if just
for a moment... “When people sing our music back to us, whether it is one person or a
thousand, the message has touched someone in one way or another.”
They call themselves South Africa’s premier Acoustic Dance Music (ADM) Act and they
are sure to get runners and walkers bopping and hopping with numbers like “Stay With
Me,” “Ain’t nobody got time for that” and “Through the Night.”
Their sound is mellow and finger-clicking good, so that is another good reason to
stick around after the you have finished your race – not only will you be available to
collect your prize if your number comes up, but you will be listening to one of the
hottest bands in South Africa right now.
The Joburg Challenge is always a fun family day, with a KidZone, where the youngsters
will be cared for and entertained while Mom pounds the streets. Bouncing castles and
face painting are just part of the fun provided for the little ones.
