The reunion concerts of Ultravox were planned as a "ONE OFF." On January 2011 they annouced on their official
website - www.ultravox.org.uk that a NEW LP was almost finished!! There were various re-editions bought out
and it was announced in March 2012 the release of a new studio album called Brilliant,
which was published on 28th May 2012.
SO i have listened to "Brilliant" and Brilliant IS Brilliant!!! The WHOLE band are back as if nothing has changed.
There is a roaring start to the LP (CD) called "Live" that shows blatantly that this mass of people are BACK and
back to show that after so many years of to and thro, Ultravox have a particular sound that is so unforgettable.
Powerful vocals from Midge after all these years performing, each and every member of this original 1980
group back in the swing of things and showing people what REAL music is. The second track that GETS ME ,
REALLY gets me like someone grabbing hold of the scruff of my neck, pulling me backwards and being told
to LISTEN is the track "Hello" - the whole track is rocking, but if you just listen from minute 3.47 - "Hello" is the video below - you will witness the TRUE return of Ultravox. The haunting piano, wailing guitar and knockout, heart - felt singing of Mr Ure make me FREEZE and want time to stop. You´ll know what i mean when you hear it, trust me. "Lie" is another track that sticks out for me as Ultravox in its PRIME, as if they were young again and starting out as a band.
