- I, Rosie Fernandez, am the founder and chairman

I am the only case of CF in Gibraltar (there were 3 cases)

- 1 in 25 people are carriers of the defective CF gene (to read more about carriers please see the attached document ''CF'') and that means that there are a staggering 1,200 potential carriers in Gibraltar

- If 2 carriers have a child, there is a 1 in 4 chance of the child having CF, and just because the 1st child does not have it, it doesn't mean the 2nd or 3rd one wont

- The average life expectancy is 35

- The daily intake of calories is 3,000+,just to maintain a normal weight

- I have 2 sessions of physiotherapy daily, 4 nebulizers and on average 60 pills daily.

A.I.D as always will be concentrating on placing new dogs in our ever increasing network of Foster Homes because the majority of dogs we take in are in a badly neglected and abused condition and need to go into foster care.

Our aim with the A.I.D. Charity is to continue helping and finding homes for stray dogs and to help them in which ever way we can, which includes our ongoing work with helping individual persons that do not have any money to help the dogs that they rescue, so whenever possible we supply them with dog food, vaccinate and sterilise some of the dogs under their care. We also help some small charities that are overloaded with dogs and lack the funds.

If you wish to help A.I.D by fostering a dog please contact Joe 626942427 or email: [email protected] All that we ask is that the dog be treated as part of your family while we are looking for a forever home. Please note that we will pay for all vets bills, food etc whilst the dog is under your care

Marbella as ‘home,’ but is still desperate to explore more of the world, and surround himself with what gives him the inspiration for most of his songs; people! People that is, of all different shapes, sizes, colours and creeds. Frank is at home around pretty much anyone, and it shows when you talk to him. He seems very laid back, and almost unshockable, and his love and affection for those close to him is something he says he is too honest to hide. He lost his ‘British stiff upper lip’ many years ago, and is much happier embracing his more open, emotional Latino side now.

Frank Skott is a man of many contrasts; the intellectual, the thinker, the philosopher, the writer, singer and poet, the Casanova, the epitome of the ladies man. He spent 16 years of his life in boarding schools and was, in his words, ‘raised by an old school system with old school values.’ But there’s the side of him that gave him the muscles, the s the tattoos and that long blond hair, his love of rugby, mixed martial arts, rally driving and weight lifting. You can tell from the soul in his voice, and the thought behind his lyrics, that this man has really lived, loved and lost. ‘Looks like a fallen angel, sounds like heaven,’ is how some would describe this talented mystery man.

Vis kasd illud exerci te. Cum et brute appetere, duo ex dicunt consectetuer, id nihil delenit nam. Ei eum tation meliore eloquentiam, augue viderer legimus qui ea. Ei his vivendo vivendum. Kasd voluptua cu nam, sea at malis viris.

Be Aware! Think Back! Ask Your Relatives!

Even if there is no history of Cystic Fibrosis in your family tree, please be aware that a CF carrier can pass the faulty gene down throughout many generations without it being noticed.

In the late 1800’s there was a case in my family where a relative had 4 babies that had died at a very young age and no one knew the cause of death. Because a diagnosis was not determined, our family were unaware that they carried the CF gene.

That is until I was born, and people started researching the family tree and old hospital records and found evidence that these 4 babies most probably died from CF.

So, as insignificant as it may seem, if you know of any or various undetermined infant deaths in your family, please see your GP and request a CF carrier screening test, as this could save your future children/grandchildren from suffering from this illness.

A CF carrier screening test is carried out free of charge in the UK via a GP to anyone who has any a possible link with the disease. There is currently no system in Gibraltar that offers this service, and I really hope this will help people realise the need for a system to be put in place, due to the high number of potential carriers in Gibraltar. 1 in every 25 people is a carrier = 1,200 in 30,000(estimate) Gibraltarians are carriers!
