COUNTING

I live 1,6 km from school . It takes me 20 minutes to walk there and 11 to 13 minutes by public transport . If I would have a car I would have to choose a different 2,6 km route and that would take 6 minutes . By bike I would be at school in 5 minutes .
When I first started walking my route to school this city was new to me . I had to look at the routes from Google maps , walk with my map and look at the street signs . In the beginning it was really exciting to see my new surroundings , I remember almost getting hit by cars , because I was looking at some beautiful bay windows . It took me some time to realize that going to school by metro is faster and I rarely walked to school after that .
In this project I wanted to get that same excitement from beginning . I made a list about things that I like about streets and my walk to school in Budapest .
- dogs ( especially the small ones ) - public display of affection ( especially - people holding hands ) - bikers - rubbish bins allover
I left from my home in Ó utca and walked through Andrássy Út to school . I started to count everything on my list and while walking I made some sketches of people , dogs and rubbish bins . Bikers were way too fast .
