‘We go Against England.’ Subtitle is ‘a new Wargame about
our U-Boat Forces.’ Box cover shows photograph of actual
German U-Boat (flying swastika flag). Game was made soon
after hostilities against England had begun. Since virtually all
such material was destroyed after the war, game is scarce.

Wehrmacht on Britain. Game cards name all the (real) British
destroyers, cruisers and warships to be attacked. Instructions
and all playing pieces (3 U-boats and 3 Luftwaffe planes) are

1934 THIRD REICH NAZI BOARD GAME:
‘A TRIP THROUGH GERMANY’ .......................... PH $300-400
Scarce early Third Reich game from 1934, a year after Hitler’s
rise to power. Game has very lengthy inscription on history of
Germany and current state. As players make their way from
Berlin to other parts of Germany, text extols the history of
each region and city, mentioning famous Germans and major
events. Official map of Germany is on board, but a second
border extends outside the German border. These constitute
the ‘lost lands,’ areas Germany lost to neighboring countries
in the aftermath of WWI. These areas are proclaimed as German
and are to be visited by players just as easily as Germany.
Game is outstanding example of early Nazi propaganda,
furthering concept of ‘Greater Germany.’ Board folds into
9"x12" envelope, which could be mailed, and has the
instructions printed on the back. Board unfolds to very large
30"x23" and looks UNUSED. Envelope also in excellent
condition. Fine.

Censor’ handstamp on back of each.

Extremely rare 21½”x28" Russian poster from Aug 1942 from
the Main Political HQ of the Soviet Navy. Red lettering
‘Remember...Avenge!’ One caption reads, ‘Germans killing
wounded Red Army soldiers.’ This is a 100% original Soviet
poster and printed in the low hundreds for the front-line
soldiers. A few small tears on bottom edge, and printing holes
on the left edge, but otherwise remarkably good condition. Very
few probably survived and are impossible to find.

1940 WEHRMACHT ANTI-ENGLAND U-BOAT GAME:
‘WITH PRIEN AGAINST ENGLAND’ .................. PH $750-1000
Very rare 1940 ‘With Prien Against England’ game, which
follows exploits of renowned German U-Boat Captain Gunther
Prien, who gained instant fame Oct 14, 1939, by sinking the
British battleship ‘Royal Oak’ in Scapa Flow, Scotland. Prien
was first U-Boat Captain to receive Wehrmacht’s highest honor,
presented by Hitler. His U-47 sank 30 Allied ships until sunk
by the British March 7, 1941. Game published in early 1940
while Prien was at the height of his fame. Box cover shows
‘Royal Oak’ sinking in the background, with U-47 in
foreground and Prien inset. Very colorful graphics. Playing
pieces include 6 metal U-Boats. Box has instructions and board
looks UNUSED. British Grand Fleet shown being attacked at
Scapa Flow, and the English Channel mined. Game given to
both soldiers and youth to promote nationalist feelings. Material
such as this was actively destr oyed after the war, and all are
scarce. Board opens to 21"x14", box measures 15"x11". Fine
1942 THIRD REICH WEHRMACHT LUFTWAFFE
GAME: ‘ENEMY AIRPLANES IN SIGHT’ .......... PH $750-1000
Rare 1942 ‘Enemy Airplanes in Sight’ game, which shows
response of the Luftwaffe and German city dwellers to an Allied
air raid against their city. Beautiful painted graphics. Game
board continues anti-Allied effort with Luftwaffe planes taking
off, Allied planes shot down and Germany citizenry dealing
with threat. Meant to be instructive, game shows citizens putting
out bomb fires, turning lights off during black-out, sheltering
in well-stocked underground air raid shelters, wearing gas
masks and using stretchers to aid the wounded, finally pointing
to Luftwaffe planes in the sky with admiration. Game is prime
example of the use by Nazis of the reality of war boost morale
and offer pragmatic instruction. Playing pieces painted, metal
planes in excellent condition, each set on top of thin stem.
Game is scarce surviving example of Nazi propaganda and
indoctrination. Box cover and board are glossy and colorful,
in fine condition overall. Box is 12"x9", board opens to 17"x12".

with embossed cardboard covers. Dated 1936 with 66 pages
containing 270 color 2"x2½” picture cards pasted in with the
text. Some scratches and scuffs on the covers, but still fine
condition and complete.
