Manuscript document signed by future president Benito Juarez,
as Governor of the State of Oaxaca. One page on Governor’s
Office stationery, 8½”x12½”, dated December 13, 1847, at
Oaxaca. In Spanish, addressed to the C ommander General of
the Armaments of the State (Jose Maria Castellanos). Fine
condition. (University Archives LOA with translation provided).

Ancient late Bronze Age clay vessel, approximately 5½” tall,
museum quality Canaanite dipper juglet, circa 1600-1200
B.C.E., late Bronze Age, visually and tactilely pleasing, with
warm, rich patina. Excavated from archaeological site in Israel.

SIGNED DOCUMENTS (x3) ................................. PH $200-300
Porfirio Diaz, Mexican President until overthrown, three early
partly-printed documents in Spanish each dated July 22, 1863
and signed by Diaz that appear to be amendments to laws.
Bound to other related documents, but can be removed if
desired. There is wear, margin splitting and folds. Overall just
good condition.

Document dated April 30, 1875, written to the Bolivian
president, announcing the birth of Prince Albert Leopold.
Signed by Leopold II, King of the Belgians (1835-1909), the
new prince would become King Albert II upon his death.
Leopold II is mostly known as the brutal colonial ruler of the
Congo. Very fine.

Signature of South African general, statesman and Prime
Minister ‘J.C. Smuts’ in dark ink on a cream colored card. It is
accompanied by an envelope postmarked April 17, 1930(?) at
Irene, a small town near Pretoria, and addressed to Samuel
Cohen in New Jersey. Some foxing, very fine. (University
Archives LOA).
1870s-90s RUSSIAN SILVER VODKA CUPS WITH
JEWISH MUSICIANS (x5) .................................... PH $600-800
Five 3" tall silver Vodka Cups with decorative Jewish musicians
as handles, possibly representing Kleizmer musicians. Proper
markings and nothing missing from instruments. Rare.
