With so many demands on our daily lives, it is easy to forget where our journey actually began.
It is in fact from the humble village of our ancestors that we have moved far for a better way of life. Hence this year’ s Sandesh theme is“ Journey from Village to …” meaning the current and the future generation have no limit as to where they will be able to go.

We hope you will be able to spare ten minutes to look through the Theme article, and a cleverly designed foldout by Preeya Mistry of Slough, to help you make connections with your ancestral village using the Family Tree.
In this year’ s Sandesh.. You will also find a variety of topics from holistic living, to a 100th birthday milestone, a teenager’ s dream of cycling 1000 miles across UK, a South African charity work adventure, Dementia research, a book review, recipes, and old photos from the early 1900s to congratulations and bereavements. All this in addition to the successes and reflection from SPA( UK) branches and SPA( UK). It therefore gives me tremendous pleasure to present this year’ s Prajapati Sandesh to you all.
Change of Guards.. After 14 years as Editor( from 2002 to 2015), Dineshbhai proposed that the Editor Role be separated from that of Graphic Design to spread the workload and provide more focus on the Sandesh magazine design. This proposal was accepted
and this is the first year that it has been trialled. As the split occurred only in mid-2016( and work had already begun) Dineshbhai has been managing both roles. Next year will provide the opportunity to run the full process as two separate roles- Editor and Designer.
Graphics Design The high quality publication can only be possible with a multitude of talents. Preeya has been so inspirational with design concepts and details. Arun and Jaimini have produced eye-catching designs worthy of mainstream publication. Arun also published last year’ s Sandesh online.
My full appreciation goes to Shri Ambalal Mistry for creating the Theme article. As always, without Nimisha’ s eye for detail with proof reading, it would not be possible to maintain such a high standard publication.
