My sincere greetings to SPA ( UK ) Trustees , Working Committee Members , Prathindhis and fellow members
I am not sure where to begin my report this year . I feel extremely happy and excited and extremely sad at the same time . Happy and excited because once again we have achieved some excellent results despite the huge challenge we have faced this year . This is no different to many other communities and organisations similar to ours . This is all thanks to our extremely dedicated and hard-working sub-committees for organising the various events and of course you the members participating in these events .
Feeling sad because following my resignation from the position of SPA ( UK ) secretary in May 2016 , we have yet to fill the position , despite having highly educated and quite capable members across the country . Not only that , we are finding that although we have members who wish to participate in activities that are organised by SPA ( UK ), branches are reluctant to take on the ownership of hosting these events .
This inevitably is becoming a challenge for the officers of SPA ( UK ). However we are extremely fortunate with the current sub-committee members and due to their passion for Samaj Sewa and sheer determination they continue to organise the various activities . It makes me so proud to summarise below the activities of these fabulous sub-committees :
