Charity The proudest achievement for Wellingborough are the charity and fundraising efforts of members. The branch participate and hold three main activities every year to raise funds: Building a stronger future The current status of SPA (UK) is very strong thanks to the foundation laid by our forefathers. Hopefully our youth will follow in our footsteps to keep our religion, culture and customs going so that future generations will benefit. • International Waendel Walk in Wellingborough and surrounding villages • Bhuvaneshwari Mataji Katha\Havan • Annual Charity Themed Fundraising Dinner and Dance In recent years, Wellingborough have also held two major religious events: Shree Surya Maha Yagna – a major two day event in 2013 attended by over 1,000 pilgrims and conducted by 12 priests. This event had only been held once before in the UK Shree Bhuvaneshwari Mataji Kumarika Pujan – an event in 2015 which has never previously been held by any SPA branch. Nine Kumarikas with an age range from 3 to 10 years were dressed as the 9 manifestations of Goddess Durga It’s through activities like this that the branch has raised and donated almost £35,000 in less than 10 years for over 25 local, national and international charities as wells as sponsoring child education in Gujarat and supporting local Northamptonshire hospitals. At present, Wellingborough branch also encompass members from Northampton, Kettering, Bedford and Milton Keynes. We even have affiliated members from Cheltenham who like to keep up with our local and national activities as they have no branch of their own. The branch now has around 80 families and are well known in the wider Hindu and other communities for their hard work and voluntary service. From everyone at Wellingborough We wish all members of Shree Prajapati Association (UK) a very happy 40th anniversary and all success for the future. Congratulations!
