HQ REPORT SENIORS Namaste an d Jai shree Krishna ...Mahendrabhai Soni spoke on the Benefits System, and Khushalbhai Kumar, gave an eye opening talk on ‘How to Age Gracefully’.... What a day the Seniors Sneh Milan was this year! It was held at Leicester Prajapati Samaj on Sunday 14th June 2015. All those who attended this Sneh Milan really enjoyed the day’s programme. The credit goes to the two speakers; Shri Mahendrabhai Soni who spoke on the Benefits System, and Khushalbhai Kumar, who gave a very interesting and eye opening talk on ‘How to Age Gracefully’. My sincere thanks to Shri Balubhai Mistry and Shri Natubhai Tailor for bringing these speakers to the Sneh Samelan. And what about the main Controller? In the absence of Shri Natubhai Tailor (Assistant Secretary), who unfortunately, was unable to attend due to a sudden change in his health, Srimati Taraben handled the event on the day. The Chair Person Shri Vasantbhai, along with Shri Balubhai did their best to control and assist Srimati Taraben. It seems that all those who were present enjoyed the day. An auction was held of two murtis to increase the donation amount and this became a very successful initiative. Over the day, approximately £3,595 were raised. We can be sure that the donation collected will help the people who are unsettled by the Nepal Earthquake. Now for the serious talk, this Sneh Samelan began as a one-off gathering. The idea came from Shri Niranjan Sharma of Ashton-UnderLyne and Shri Natubhai Tailor of Preston to bring all the founding members and past members together. However, now it seems it will hopefully continue as an annual event. Not only that, it has become a self-financing event. Hats off to Seniors who do dig deep to donate generously! It is a good lesson for the youngsters to learn and remember. As it seems this will be an annual event, it will be nice if youngsters took over the running of this event. By this I mean younger than 60! It will provide for a smooth running of the event. Finally, a thought for the Seniors: Åe¡Np S>b elp„k¡, Ly$R> cu “p ‘pk lp¡Np v$p¡ Nygpb L¡$ kp’ L$a“ L$p syL$X$p syçl¡ kp’ v$¡Np So if and when possible, forget about holding money, enjoy life and do make an effort to attend the Seniors Sneh Milan and donate generously.
