HQ REPORT SECRETARY President Namaste an d Jai shree sh ree Krishna Krish na ‘‘This year we started operating under the revised constitution...’’ My sincere greetings to SPA (UK) Trustees, Working Committee, Prathindhis and fellow members. 2014-15…..What an eventful year! I cannot believe how quickly the year has passed. With the ever increasing SPA (UK) events (ten events this year), other SPA (UK) branch events, meetings and four immediate family weddings (including my daughters’) along with lots of other social events, one can appreciate why this year has been eventful! This year we started operating under the revised constitution and I hope everyone now has a better understanding of the changes that have been implemented and although it is early days, I hope in time we will see the benefit. I summarise below all the events organised by the various subcommittees throughout the year: Mahilas Youths Golf Tournament Ranjanaben and Gitaben along with their team have been busy with various events, starting with the exciting and extremely enjoyable Mahila Samelan in Leicester which included a variety show, rangoli and cake decorating competition amongst the items of entertainment. This was followed by the family fun day, providing valuable support to other SPA (UK) events and working with Birmingham branch for the 35th Mahila Samelan. They have now stepped down and I would like to thank both of them for their help and support over the last two years, and hope they will continue to participate and support SPA (UK). At the same time I welcome Pushpaben, Dakshaben, Sardaben and Praveenaben from Tameside. Although we constantly hear of lack of participation by our young people, this may be true for some aspects of Samaj Sewa, however our youth team Nikhilbhai, Mahendrabhai and Divyenbhai have been working extremely hard to find innovative ideas for increasing youth participation. I am pleased to report that they have made a small but significant progress towards this by increasing the number of teams playing a particular sport from each branch at the annual Sports Day. Has now become an established annual event attracting both the young and the not so young of both genders. Thanks are relayed to Arvindbhai for assisting the youth team co-ordinating the tournament. Sports Day This year’s Sports Day was hosted by Tameside branch and big thanks goes to Punam and all the Volunteers involved in making the event a success. Cricket Tournament Has been popular as ever and thanks again to Leicester Branch for assisting the youth team in coordinating this. Well done Nikhilbhai, Divyenbhai and Mahendrabhai for all your hard work. Single? Let’s Mingle! The latest event was held on 18th April 2015, which fell just outside of the year however Anilbhai and his new team had been preparing for vol. 40 | Prajapati Sandesh 2015 | www.prajapati.org.uk 9
