B R ANCH REPORT
Luton
Namaste As we look back on the last 12 months we can say that like
most branches Luton Branch has seen an increase in its participants.
Keep it up - we say!
During the month of Shradhdh we held our annual Bhajan Bhojan on the
20th September 2014 which was attended by many local members with
their families and friends. During the event we heard many melodious
Bhajans by Dhansukhbhai Mistry and Mandal from Birmingham.
During the event we were given an informative Power Point presentation on
why we celebrate the holy month of Shradhdh in both English and Gujarati.
At the event we raised funds for the Great Ormond Street Hospital.
Thank you to the donors and volunteers that helped on the day.
Our Prajapati Community of Luton made donations to the Luton Hindu
Mandir during the Navratri festival.
We then swiftly moved on to our Dinner and Dance event on the 15th
November 2014 held at Arisia Restaurant in Newport Pagnell. All those
who attended the function had an enjoyable evening with delicious food
and lovely music. We raised funds for the Water Aid Project and we met
many new faces.
Continuing on with our charity work we supported our local Keech Hospice
Care which provides emotional and practical support for adults and children
diagnosed with a life-limiting condition. We volunteered to help collect
funds for the Smiley Sam Appeal. With the help of Santa we knocked on
doors one evening collecting donations from local residents.
Some of our members attended the HQ Mahila Samelan and the Seniors
Samelan - all reporting back to us saying they had a lovely time.
With the arrival of the warmer days we headed off to Eastbourne for the
day. We had a full coach and lovely weather, with yet again, a number of
new faces. It was nice seeing everyone having a great time together having
fun and sharing home cooked food.

We would like to thank all the members of the Samaj who have donated
their time and efforts in doing Sewa throughout the town and supporting
Luton Branch.
Finally, we wish everyone a very Happy Diwali
and Nutan Varsh Abhinandan from all of us at
Luton Branch.
