e have had another busy year in Wellingborough as we continue with our community, cultural and charity projects. Several
years ago, the SPA committee with the support of our members, made a decision that we should engage primarily in
charity work and sewa. With this in mind we have raised £30,000 for over 25 local, national and international charities
and disaster appeals. 2013 was our most successful year ever when we donated over £6,000 to seven charities and organisations
as follows:
• HQ Water Aid Appeal
£3,001
• Northampton General Hospital £1,001
• NSPCC
£1,001
• HQ Uttarakhand Disaster Appeal £501
• Wellingborough Gujarati School £301
• Northampton Gujarati School £301
• SPA ITF Fund (education fund) £250
We also continue to sponsor child
education in Gujarat.

Our nominated charities for 2014 are
both local to Northamptonshire; Crazy
Hats Breast Cancer Appeal and Cynthia
Spencer Hospice.
We would also like to thank all of our
friends from other communities who
have continually given us their support
and backing. Here are some of our
branch activities from this last year.
Charity Fundraiser
This event took place on Saturday 16th
November 2013 at Diana’s Health and
Fitness Club. Once again the event
was a sell out with around 150 people
in attendance. The evening included
a meal, drinks, raffle and music from
“2Slick Entertainment”. Everyone had
a thoroughly enjoyable night and we
were delighted to present over £6,000
to several charities. Special thanks
