hile we all celebrate the
festival of light it gives Shree
Prajapati Mandal of East
London great pleasure in sending to all
our Prajapatis living throughout UK, our
heartiest greetings for Deepavali and
Nutan Varsh Abhinandan for Vikram
Savant 2071 - May God bless you all
with health, wealth and prosperity.
Last year during Navratri, Mandal
dedicated one afternoon of garba in
respect of the Water Aid charity and
this was hugely successful as we had
an overwhelming response from our
members. Hence, this charity event
was carried forward to our New Year
Gathering too. I am proud to say that in
an afternoon of Garba and a few hours
at our Gathering, we raised £836.52. I
take this opportunity to thank all our
60
members for their generous donations
for this worthy cause.
Once again our senior members proved
that they are the driving force for the
Mandal by attending Seniors Samelan.
Our Mahila are a driving force too as
they proved by selling all the allocated
tickets for the Mahila Samelan. Both
the Mahila and senior members
enjoyed their days and are looking
forward to the Samelans next year.
This year our Mahila Mandal organised
‘Shraddh Bhajan’ with a bhajan mandli
to entertain members. However, the
day before the event, an unexpected
thunderstorm caused widespread
damage to the school hall. Despite our
best efforts, we could not re-locate the
event. Furthermore, it also led to the
cancellation of our Navratri. For the first
time in 36 years, the Mandal was not
able to celebrate Navratri.
However, Deepavali/New Year Gathering
and Christmas Party will take place
as per every year and we are planning
other activities too.
