or Birmingham branch, the past
year has been a mix of success
and struggles. Particularly it is of
concern that members participation is
ever declining. Everyone is busy in their
own personal lives, however, if culture
is important to you then I am sure you
will find at least an hour a month for
Samaj Sewa. We encourage all parents
and children to attend SPA Birmingham
Samaj events.
which symbolised the festival spirit.
The outcome of the AGM was that
most of the posts were filled by young
members with a mix of experience
and inexperience. We hope that with
passion and commitment we will take
Samaj forward.
The co-hosting of the Seniors Samelan
with Walsall branch provided an
opportunity to work together. Even our
volunteers thoroughly enjoyed working
in this partnership.
Senior Citizens group continues to
thrive with monthly gatherings and
there was a trip to Weymouth in July.
The Mahila team organised a Social
Gathering which attracted over 100
people, and our new Youth Leader
Nikhilbhai Vinodbhai Mistry is working
hard with youths to participate in Youth
Club on Fridays. Well done to those
who participated in the Sports Day in
Tameside.
Our year began with the Diwali Show/
AGM in November 2013. Due to a low
number of items from members, we
hired Sampad Arts who presented
cultural Bharat Natyam and Kuchipudis, Building Renovation:
Our target is to complete this project
by December 2015 with fund raising
activities and with help from members
with skills in carpentry, plumbing etc.
To date, the improvements completed
are damp course, false ceiling, front
entrance and flooring for the back room.
Our aim is to complete all renovation
work by December 2015.
This is your Samaj “BE PROUD TO BE
PRAJAPATI”.
Finally, on behalf of The Board of
Trustees and Management Committee
we sincerely thank our members for
their contribution and wish you all a
very Happy Diwali and a prosperous
New Year.

Talking of successes, our major building
renovation project is in progress. We
hosted a joint Seniors Samelan with
Walsall branch on 1st June 2014, and
our new Constitution was approved at
the EGM on 17th July 2014. Sumitraben
Narendrabhai Mistry and her team have
taken on the challenge to plan the 35th
Mahila Samelan on 26th April 2015, and
planning is underway for the Samaj’s
40th Anniversary celebration in 2015.
Our aim is to raise £25,000 in 2014 by
inviting our members to donate £100
per household, and hold fund raising
events such as the Skittles night. We
say to our members to become part
of Prajapati Samaj Moving Forward
and donate money to the renovation
project and the building running cost,
which you could otherwise spend
unnecessarily. We thank our members
who have already contributed.
